The Library now opens Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m. On Saturdays, we will stay open until 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday closings will remain at 8 p.m., and Fridays at 5 p.m. We are glad that we will be able to be open at the same time each day!
On Tuesday, October 28, at 5:30 p.m. Professor Marcel Beausoleil of the Fitchburg State University Criminal Justice Department will lead a discussion of this provocative book. Copies of the book are available at the Library.

Join us on Thursday, November 20, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. for a showing of a 2002 film, based on a true story, about three half-caste Aboriginal girls taken from their mothers and placed in a camp 1500 miles away, to be trained as servants for the Australian elite. A Fitchburg State University professor will lead the discussion following the film. Call the Library for the title of the film. Free and open to all.
Grab your costumes! The Teen Center will host an after-hours Halloween Party on Saturday, October 25, from 5-8 p.m. All teens, 13-18, are welcome for food, a 1985 movie about some kids who find a treasure map, and spooky sounds. Call 978-829-1780 to register (and if you can't guess the movie!) Because the library will be closed, enter through the Youth Library Door.
Don't forget to visit the Book Sale each first Monday of the month, from Noon to 7 p.m. Your purchases support the Friends of the Fitchburg Public Library.
