Opportunity Zones could offer tax benefits across Central Mass.

Fitchburg is one of twenty-five census tracts in a dozen area communities to have been submitted to the U.S. Treasury to be designated as an Opportunity Zone where investors can gain tax benefits for investing in the areas.

Traffic lanes on Fitchburg's Water Street Bridge will be narrowed

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is conducting repairs on the Water Street Bridge in Fitchburg. The changes are expected to remain in place until the bridge is replaced during a construction project slated to begin in the spring of 2021.
