The Summer Playground program is open to children ages 2-17. Participants under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult for the day. The program runs July 11th- August 19th, Monday—Friday from 9:30am—2:30pm, weather permitting. This program is offered to Fitchburg residents at NO COST.

Full Description
Join the Rec Department in your local park this summer for crafts, sports, games and more. Free lunch included for those 17 and under through the USDA Summer Food Service Program.
The Summer Playground program is open to children ages 2-17. Participants under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult for the day. The program runs July 11th- August 19th, Monday—Friday from 9:30am—2:30pm, weather permitting. This program is offered to Fitchburg residents at NO COST.
- Parkhill Park
- Coolidge Park
- Crocker Park
- Lowe Playground
Be sure to:
- Arrive wearing comfortable athletic clothing
- Wear closed toed shoes (no flip flops or sandals).
- Wear Sunscreen
- Unvaccinated participants should bring a mask/face covering if possible. Mask wearing will not be required while outdoors unless social distancing is not possible.
- Come ready for fun!

Lunch is provided free of charge through the Department of Education and the Fitchburg Recreation Department to all children participating in the Summer Playground Program.
Children receiving a lunch must be signed in and at the park by 9:45 AM. Lunch will be served from 10:55 to 11:45. Lunches must be consumed at the playground.
